FOR SALON AND SPA PROFESSIONALS

Salon and spa professionals are among the most trusted people in a community.  You know all about your client’s lives, families, children, jobs and more. Since salon and spa professionals serve an estimated 200 clients every four to six weeks, you are potentially in contact with victims of domestic abuse. You have a unique opportunity to reach out to and discreetly share helpful information with those who do not report domestic abuse to the police or access traditional resources like shelter.   This is why Purple Ribbon Council Executive Director, Donna Bartos and Matrix Artistic Color Director, Patrick McIvor launched the Pretty in Purple™ Week Campaign.

Donna Bartos

Donna is a survivor of dating abuse and creator of the Purple Ribbon Council, Purple Ribbon Fund for Children, Girls Night Out to Cut Out Domestic Abuse™, Pretty in Purple™, Rock the Purple™, Pars Fore Purple, Go Purple Days, Pucks for Purple and Pedal for Purple awareness events.

Patrick McIvor

Patrick is the owner and creator of Patrick McIvor Color Studio, a national beauty magazine contributor, and one of the salon and spa industry’s most talented colorists and outspoken advocates for domestic abuse, dating violence and bullying prevention.
